How I came to love Groo:
I saw Groo across a crowded room.  Strains of violin music came out of 
nowhere as our eyes met.  I smiled and tossed my hair back coyly.  He 
slayed everyone in the room as we ran toward each other in slow motion.

Actually, not long after Elie and I started seeing one another 
seriously, he gave me a Groo to read to keep me occupied for a few 
minutes.  I never remember the issue number; it was the one with the 
puppet shows.  I was not exposed to comics or MAD Magazine growing up, 
so that was my introduction to not only Sergio's work, but comics in 
general.  I was amazed at how intelligent the story was--nothing like 
what I had been led to believe comics were like.  I was immediately 
hooked and devoured the rest of Elie's Groo collection in short order.
