Greetings everyone!
Well, I am putting my hat in as for the "...dumbest, most pointless
GrooGram ever published from a member of The Groop."
My personal, self-written GROO-GRAM was printed in the Marvel Issue #13 - March 1986 - ($. 75)
My gosh, that was twenty years ago! I know, I know ... you are all wondering how my parents could let a "new-born" read such beautifully written literature such as a GROO, let alone how I was able to submit a letter, being so young and all (cough) - I guess I was a young genius... (cough, cough) Unfortunately, that was until I read SO many GROO's - well, we all know what happened next.... I am no longer the genius I once was...(cough) and, incredibly, I've aged quite a bit as well.... okay, okay... I wasn't a new-born, I was a lowly college student with an extra $ .75 in my pocket.... gees! Picky, picky!
Oh, and as for how many letters I sent into Mark for consideration - well, this was the only one I ever submitted. I have the sneaking suspicion that he printed it out of pity.
Here is my GROO-GRAM:
Dear Mr. Aragones and Mr. Evanier,
I would like to say that I think Groo is wonderful! I have recently become your #1 fan! There is only one question that comes to my mind and that is why do you have two "number one" Groo magazines and two "number two" Groo magazines and so on? If you could answer this for me and many other Groo fans, we would greatly appreciate it.
M.E.'s response:
There were eight issues of Groo published by a company called Pacific Comics and then, when we began this series with the Epic folks, we started the numbering all over again. Actually, it's worse than you think because in between Pacific and Epic, Eclipse Comics published Groo Special #1 so there have been three first issues of Groo and, one of these days (in the answer to your requests), we'll probably do either another special (#1) or start a companion mag to Groo, just so we can publish another Groo #1! Think how easy it would make filing your comics, especially for fans who don't know how to count. It would make it cheaper to buy back issues because Groo #1 would always be on sale! You could start collecting at any time and never feel like you'd missed anything. We'll have to try it!
Have fun!
Shawn

1) First, let's take nominations for the dumbest, most pointless
GrooGram ever published from a member of The Groop. I think I may be a
shoe-in, but let's see if anyone else's is dumber and more pointless.
After nominations are in we'll vote on them!
2) Also, which of us active in the Groop now can cite the EARLIEST
GrooGram published?
3) How about the MOST GrooGrams published (again, active Groop)?
