Hi Folks!
This is a more complicated question than you might think.
The soft cover cover is Buzz stepping on a tiny alien. This cartoon is not
in the hard cover. It is, however, used as the cover of the second French
"Buzz et Bell" that was never published in the United States.
The hard cover cover has Buzz & Bell standing on a planet that is actually
a bomb. This cartoon is not in the soft cover. It was also used as the
cover of the first French "Buzz et Bell." Both French editions are
harcovers. The American hard cover also has the "Jack in the Box" gag that
is not in the softcover. (or in the French publications)
And for no apparent reason there was a "Special San Diego Comic Con '91
Dedicated Edition of Two Hundred Copies." What makes it "special" is that
it has a page inserted in the front that says "BUZZ & BELL, SPACE CADETS by
Sergio Aragones Special San Diego Comic Con '91 Dedicated Edition of Two
Hundred Copies" with the San Diego Con logo bird. That's it. No extra
cartoon or Sergio art of any kind. Go figure.
Oh, and for those of you keeping score, there was a third edition ready to
be published with another set of 44 cartoons plus a cover, but it was blown
up in Sarajevo.
I hope you all took notes because there will be a test.
Take Care -Gary G.
PS Only the hard cover (American) was numbered.
