And the more memorable characters too. There have been plenty of well
meaning or dedicated or truly pious monks or lay priests or shamans
(especially in the crowd scenes :-) to show the good side of religion but
they don't tend to get names.

Ryan,
I think the religious persuasions of the Groo Crew are not so important or
relevant as the fact that in any institution, including religions, you can
find, and have always been able to find, corruption and hypocrisy. Just as
you can also find those sincerely trying to accomplish what the
institutions have been ostensibly set up to do. The former is obviously a
much better target for satire and humor and therefore that’s what you are
more likely to see in Groo or any other humor/social commentary
publication.

Subject: [Groop] Groo Crew Religious Views
You know, after reading Groo Hell on Earth and then reflecting on all of
the real life things that Groo has done (pollution, ecosystem, corruption,
etc.) , I was wondering something.
There are several issues where Groo touches on corruption of religious
figures. Also about polytheism, and the one issue where Rufferto is
worshipped as a god.
What are the religious views the Groo Crew have on religion itself? I
realize this is part of the "Don't speak of politics or religion" thing.
However since they have mentioned both in Groo frequently I thought it
would be allowable.
