I realize that ME is a part of the list, which is great... but it seems there are certain things we don't discuss here because of his presence. Perhaps he can skip this thread altogether.

1. I'm wondering what some of your actual opinions are regarding the quality of the Groo stories since the guys moved to Dark Horse...

I don't think either Mark or Sergio would be bothered by any criticism that is thoughfully presented. They are both professional enough that I don't think we have to tiptoe around them and ALWAYS be worshipful, LOL. In fact, I think Mark would respect fans more who expressed their likes and dislikes openly and honestly, we're not about to hurt his feelings.

I enjoy the hell out of the new stuff, but I would agree that the Epic run was a lot lighter and sillier. I think it's inherent in the mini-series format, it gets them thinking a little more "deeply" since it is a four issue arc, so there needs to be a unifying "Grand Idea."

That's why when they were tossing around the idea a few years back of a Groo 12-issue Friends and Foes series that featured 12 stand alone issues, I was REALLY excited. I would love to see them go back to that idea, since I think it frees them up for more idle silliness, rather than feeling like they have to make a grand statement in a four isue arc.
