[Groop] Dark Horse/Emerald City Con news....

Hi Folks!

First off let me get this out of the way: I'm Spartacus!

Thanks to Shawn (the girl) for letting us know about what actually went
on at the Dark Horse panel at the Emerald City Comic Con. I think a lot
of times most of the Dark Horse folks don't really know what is going on
with the creator owned comics. Certainly Mark knows what has, or has
not, been negotiated with Mike Richardson and has as good an idea as can
be had-which may not be very good given the variables-of when stuff will
likely come out. .

My biggest concern about the Groo Treasury and the continuation of the
alphabet reprints is Mark's comment about Sergio searching for all of
the old film. Sometimes Sergio has trouble finding that stuff.
Therefore, I hereby volunteer to go down to Ojai and help Sergio look
for all of the old film! (With the prospect of me coming down, I'm sure
Sergio will either find the film very quickly or he'll just redraw
everything!)

Take care all,

Gary G.

Hi ~

I was at that panel of Dark Horse at the ECCC -

The panel went over a LOT of new things coming out at Dark Horse this
year, but nothing was brought up about Groo... so, I raised my hand and
asked, "Rumor has it that there may be some Groo's coming out soon?"
The panel hemmed and hawed, and scratched their heads.... looked back
and forth at one another for an answer... then they answered just like
the reporter of CBR wrote in his article. I got the feeling the panel
didn't really know what they were talking about when it came to Groo at
this point in time.

I was at the same panel at the WonderCon - and the panel had gone over
the "same" information (Power Point Presentation) at both con's. With
nothing mentioned about Groo at the WonderCon... I wanted to make sure
they knew that Groo fans were indeed in their ECCC audience... so I
brought him up. :)

They also made mention of the Free Comic Book day on May 2nd.... saying
that there should be a free Usagi Yojimbo given out that day.

Have fun,

Shawn (the girl :)

CBR just posted a news article on what's coming out this year
and here's their "Groo" mention/blurb on the article:

"The team is working on collecting the classic stories of "Groo"
and in launching a new "Groo" series. Neither are expected out this
year."

Is this just bad reporting from CBR reporters (they report too
much Con coverage errors these days) or is Dark Horse wrong about the
new Groo releases this year??
