[Groop] Groo Treasury

Hey Alex!

First off, I think anything after the Groo Treasury is an "if."
Second, for me, a big reason to reprint the early Epics is because: a)
the paper quality sucks, taking away from Sergio's art and Tom's colors,
and b) as I mentioned, the Groo Bazaar through Groo Garden are very hard
to find and generally pricey on ebay. So I think it makes sense to
reprint Groo 1-28. The Dark Horse trades (Houndbook thru Odyssey
#29-#60) are not too tough to find. You can still order some of them
from DH's retail online store, Things From Another World.

That all being said, I agree that the earlier Epics are much easier to
find than the more recent Epics. That is in large part because when
they switched to better paper and fewer ads, they also changed
distribution so fewer comics were printed (but as Mark explained in Groo
Grams at the time, they made a little more money) I believe #87 was the
first issue with better paper. It also is the first regular issue to
have a Rufferto gag on the back (the 6 Chronicles had the first 6
Ruffertos), also those "Silly Sergio" intros, and usually a puzzle in
the back.) But I digress.

So anyhow, they really need to reprint everything except #29-#60. The
earlier stuff because the paper quality sucks and the latter stuff
because they are hard to find.

As far as running a Groo Exchange, well, in a couple of weeks I will be
quitting my second job, so theoretically I will have more time. (Ha!)
I've spent time in the last month or so trying to organize all of my
Groo stuff. Somehow I have an extra copy of almost every Groo and I was
planning on getting rid of some of them one way or another. Before
deciding on anything, I would like to get some input from the rest of
the Groop:

Who doesn't have a complete set of Groos and wants to work toward
getting one?

What issues don't you have?

Who has extra Groos?

What extra issues do you have?

Sorry for being so long winded. Take care all,

Gary G.

The comic shops around here are loaded with the early Epic issues.
Everybody seems to have 1-20 in spades. Its the later ones that are
hard to find. It hit and miss with the latter ones, and everything after
#80 you have to search online (even there they seem scarce). Why not
just reprint the Groo Adventurer instead of more Treasuries? Honestly
I'd rather finish the series of Epic reprint books before starting a new
one.

I still don't have a complete set of Epic. Gary are you willing to host
a Great Groo Comic Book exchange yet?
