[Groop] Where were you?

My mom had bought me a pile of comics from the drugstore newsstand as she often did when I was young, mostly funnybooks appropriate for my age, with the occasional superhero book (I didn't really get into those for a few more years).  One was Epic Groo #12.  It sat in my pile unread for months, the cover didn't seem like something that was my taste.  One day I was bored and I was going through my pile and found it, and gave it a read.  After rereading three times and laughing my ass off (and realizing it was the same guy who did stuff for MAD), I became a full fledged fan.  Next time I went to the comic shop I picked up #24, and rarely missed an issue afterwards.
