[Groop] Calgary Anyone?

Hey Conor!
I remember meeting you! I am so glad you will get a chance to meet
Sergio & Mark in a more calm setting than San Diego. It will be way
cool! Be sure and tell them that you are a member of the Groop. Then
they will know you are a true blue Groo fan. I seem to remember you
being a little shy. Don't be. Sergio loves his fans and really
appreciates the real fans that aren't looking for a free sketch to sell
on ebay. So bring something for Sergio and Mark to sign. Get your
picture taken with both of them. You will have a great time.
As for your offer, ah, if only I could get there! Sometimes 750 miles
doesn't sound far at all. I used to drive from Olympia to LA (1100
miles) in one day. But, well, it really is quite a distance. And there
is The Long Suffering Mrs. G. to consider. Darn! If only it were, say,
a mere 300 miles like to Spokane...
Take care,
Gary G.

Yes sir, Gary, I'll be going!
I actually live in Calgary and, frankly, I'm still a bit in shock at the
fact that both Sergio and Mark are coming here, haha. Somebody pinch me!
No wait -- don't!!!
I managed to meet each of them (along with Stan, Tom and you too, Gary)
for a few seconds at the 2007 San Diego Con, and even though the
encounters were brief, they were eye-opening. At the time, I was just
entering art school with aspirations of making comics for a living
myself and so meeting the guys who had created the comic I grew up on
made all those dreams seem...just a little bit more possible, heh heh.
I'm absolutely thrilled that they're coming here.
Incidentally - if any Groopie was thinking of coming to Calgary, but
doesn't have a place to stay, you'd be welcome to stay at my place
during the con (for free, obviously). I live in a house with 4 other
people in their early/mid-20's, so the place is a little cramped and
messy, but if you're okay with it, I'm okay with it, haha. Just send me
an e-mail and we'll figure things out.
Talk to you in a bit!
Conor

OK, I did not intend to say "I am only 750 miles away from where I
live." I was trying to say that Calgary is only 750 miles away from
where I live, but I got interrupted mid sentence and, well, it came out
all wrong.
Jeez! Maybe it was a Freudian slip. Maybe I wish I was 750 miles away,
cuz then I wouldn't be here at work. Actually, I wish I was in New
Orleans with the Long Suffering Mrs. G, my daughter, and one of my sons.
Gary "Mr. Typo" G.
PS Actually, in some respects I'm a lot further away than a mere 750
miles. I'm way, way far away.....

Hi Folks!
I've got a few minutes in between tax meetings and writing tax papers
(oh, joy) so I thought I'd send out another completely pointless
message.
Are any Canadian Groopies going to make it to Calgary to see Sergio &
Mark in April? I know I've sent some stuff up there in the past. I
checked and according Mapquest, I am only 750 miles away from where I
live. I am also only 750 miles away from San Francisco and WonderCon.
And yet, despite there piddling distances, I didn't go to WonderCon and
won't be going to Calgary. What is the matter with me? I must be
getting old....
Take care all,
Gary G.
(See, I told you it was pointless.)
