Yea, is Mark E. aware that every email he posts on the Groop are at the
same time posted on Google (regular internet) anyway? Well, maybe now he
is.....Hi Mark!
If you type in "Groo News from ME" on the Google search box, you can see
pages of Mark's Groop "news" emails from way back from 1999. Any random
person searching for Groo-ish news can view ALL Groop emails on there.
But the Groo Message Boards have nothing to do with it since it's a
"Private Forum" (they've been private for years to ward off "spam bots") where
you have to log in and become a member. There are maybe 20-30 active members
on the forum at best (most who are part of the Groop anyway).
It's actually more discreet if Mark posts "upcoming Groo news" on a
private forums versus a mass mailing Groop list (that has 300-400 members plus
the "regular internet") whose messages are all stored and viewable to the
public on Google....and Yahoo too!
I'm just pointing out that the Groo message board is a private one and
that one has to log onto whereas any Groop messages are viewable on the Google
search engine.
You can type "Those Who fear Groo" on Google and you won't see any news or
content of the forum turn up on Google. Groop messages you can....

Hi,
I am a little confused. Tell me if I'm wrong... but it has always been my
impression that the"Those Who Fear Groo" Forum is intended only for
Groop Members? One in the same? Same Groop Members? It requires
a password to see any writings or images that members have posted.
Whereas the Groop emails are open to the public - meaning that anyone
who wants to - can simply do a search for "Groo" - and then can go back
and see all prior email posts/digests.
I like the "TWFG" Forum because it is visual and it holds on to prior
posts and
images that are categorized and easy to refer back to. To me, it is like a
"home"
for Groop Members. Similar to Stan Sakai's "Usagi Yojimbo Dojo."
Am I being naive?
Thank you for any clarification,
Shawn (the girl :)
