[Groop] Comic-Con Camping?

My brother and I will be attending Comic-Con in San Diego.  We are thinking of tent camping.  Is that feasible?  Any public camping near the beach and near the Con?
 
If not, we were thinking of camping at the KOA:
 
San Diego Metro KOA
111 North 2nd Ave.
Chula Vista , CA 91910
 
Is travel by bus or other transit feasible from this location?
 
Any other recommendations?
