A few websites to check:
<A HREF="www.sandiegoconcierge.com">www.sandiegoconcierge.com</A>
extendedstay.com
a-zsandiegohotels.com
<A HREF="www.hoteldiscount.com">www.hoteldiscount.com</A>

"Econo Lodge" sounds like a possible-- walking distance (1/2 mile) to
convention center: (619)232-1616

Anything in Old Town (probably NOT cheap) is within walking distance to the
trolley, and Hotel Circle is fairly close to Old Town (and has some "budget"
hotels, like "Super 8"). There may possibly be trolley access in the Hotel
Circle area by next summer; ditto for the College area (another place to
check for hotels). It's possible to get bus/trolley passes
(www.sdcommute.com) that are good up to 4 days, with discounts for students,
seniors and handicapped.
