Hi Folks!
What? Again?! I demand a recount. I was sure it would be Larry this year. I (mercifully) cut my posts by over 100 and I'm still the top poster. The 2003 total is about half of what I did when I came in second a few years back. Oh, well...
In an attempt to NOT be the top poster for 2004, I will try to combine more posts, starting now:
1. Azamin wrote: > arghhhhhh number 10.....???? Oh my god... I'm grooed... I don't have enough money to go to SDCC....... I have classes to attend... is there anybody who want to go to SDCC... ? are you willing to take my spot at
number 10...? please... anybody.... help me
Hey Azamin! I have a better idea. Send a picture of yourself we can blow up and paste onto a cardboard cut out. I will personally carry it around this year's SDCC so that you WILL be there. (Azamin will always be a Top 5 Grooper Trooper in my book no matter how many posts he has.)
2. Chad wrote: > Well, I (for one) have never been so ashamed of myself.
Ah, Chad. That's your problem. The key to being a top poster is having no shame whatsoever, as any fool can plainly see!
"Bob" wrote: > Did someone say other side of the planet . . . . . . . .
"what camels ?"
Greg, or, uh, Bob, Azamin is on the other other side of the world. That's right. From the steamy cheap comic book paper eating jungles of Malaysia to the no boobs allowed by the government desert heat of Saudi Arabia, Groo Fans are everywhere!!! And Greg, why is your e-mail name "Bob?"
3. As for the "Top Poster," well, the promo posters are great, but it's hard to beat the only mass market Groo poster with it's 171 characters (178 if you count the little prairie dog-like animals and the ox), the hidden message, the entire Groo Crew, and all those cool helmets, including helmets for each of the Groo Crew that have a real life meaning. Did you also notice that every character in the drawing except Rufferto and the guy asleep on the side wall has there eyes on Groo, including some of the creatures on the helmets! By the way, when I told Sergio there were 178 characters in the poster, he said "Is that all? I have done things with many more!"
4. I guess Angel is a spin off of Buffy (?) and they have this charter called Groo. Didn't know he was Groo Like. If was REALLY Groo like, Angel would be dead (even if he is a vampire) and both shows would be off the air. Oh wait, I think that's happening. All the more proof that they did steal the Groo idea from Sergio & Mark and they should sue.
5. Hey Jared! I think lots of Groopies read lots of other stuff and some, like me, don't. I only read Groo, anything by Sergio and/or Mark and Usagi Yojimbo, by Stan.
6. And finally, Re: Shawn & Larry & Groo License plates: I am about to give my 1994 Mazda Protege away. It has had Groo license plates on it for about 4 1/2 years now and I've put over 130,000 miles on it in that time and had no major problems. Clearly a mystery of cosmic proportions. The only explanation is that my daughter loves dogs, thereby perhaps granting my Groo car some kind of Rufferto immunity. (btw, I'm transferring the plates to another car.)
So there you go! At least 6 pointless posts in one, thereby saving your delete fingers and working toward Larry or Eric or Anybody but me being the top poster of 2004.
I hope all is going well with everyone. Read everyone else's bogs and take care -Gary G.
