Attending without getting crushed by massive crowds? Attending a High School in your younger years with 2000 grades 11 and 12 students that was actually designed for 800 grades 8-10 students is good practice.
Cheers,
David Reinhardt
P.S.- All I've gotta say about that one is "and about bloody time, too."
ME: Just in case anyone's interested...
Sergio is a special guest at the con this year. Sergio will be a
special guest at the con next year. And the year after. In fact, for
the rest of his life, any year there's a Comic-Con International, if
Sergio wants to go, he'll be a special guest.
The convention has this special category called Permanent Guest of
Honor. It's reserved for a select few...and in the past, most of the
folks who've gotten the honor, like Jack Kirby or Will Eisner, have
passed away. The folks in this category are always invited to be
special guests.
For several years, I lobbied the convention committee to award this
status to Sergio. The argument against it was that he was too
young...but they finally gave in and voted last year to make him a
Permanent Guest of Honor. I think there are only two or three others.
