Hi everybody..
Actually... I would like to thanks my cousin first before I tell you how
I was hooked-up to like Groo.. (eventhough he is not in this mailing list)
Around 1988 or 1989, I was 16-17 years old.. my cousin was living with
my grandmom for nearly 2 years.. so when he left .. he left behind a few
comics... like Judge dreed, Groo etc... He left about 3 or 4 groos
actually... I don't remember the issue number.. something around #34 for
1 of it.... So I read the comics when I went to my Grandmom's house and
start to like it... When i entered university in 1990 in Kuala Lumpur..
I saw groo was sold in the book shop - comics section and start to buy
it every month... and also took advantage of Marvel's promotion to
subscribed it (with cheaper price ) directly from them with my
university address... well from 12 issues, I managed to get around 8 to
9 only.. the other..??? somebody took it from the mail box at the
university.. (hope they also got hooked up with Groo too).. then I start
to look for comic book store... and one with the name "The Mind Shop" is
my favorite... which later I open a comic account with them where every
new issue of Groo will be included into it... Sometime I collected at
their shop and sometimes they mailed it to my hometown address (so that
there will be no more missing Groos)... and this was going on till issue
80++ or near 100... later I bought it directly from other comic book
shop too... sometime i look from other comicwhile looking for issues
that I don't have... Later... I found this mailing list and start to
know Gary and all of you... Gary help me to find issues I don't have and
I find him some Malaysian Groo newspaper reprints.... and we created
Groo credits between us... something to value the barter trading between
us... I for the last many years. I owed him about 100 Groo credits.. and
only last month I settle it with some shipment of Malaysian coins he
ask me to find for his son as a birthday present.... Thank you Gary... .
while looking for Malaysian Groo newspaper reprints.. I stumbled on
Malaysia Groo T shirt.. which I sold to some of you in 1999... and the
only thing I regret was ... I did not bought all of those T shirt from
the newspaper company that reprints Groo.... something I still regrets
till now...
