[Groop] (Not a) Conan parody

Don't worry, well try to cure you of your wisdom affliction. ;)

Prior to Conan you pretty much have to read have Norse Mythology, or Beowulf, for a good Barbarian yarn.

H.P. Lovecraft, August Derleth, and other Weird Tales Contemporaries also added to the Genre, or otherwise helped it along.

Tolkien (who closely mimicked mythology in many of his works) was, in my opinion a contemporary who took a similar theme in a vastly different direction. Tolkien does have some Lovecraftian undertones at times though (you have to read closely).  

Sergio Aragones did add the Cute Dog part, however (Thanks KayTee) !
